One of the greatest joys of leading Welcome Church is watching our vision—to see Life Transformed Through Jesus—take shape in real, tangible ways.
One key way we do that is through our Welcome Works ministries. These initiatives provide vital practical and emotional support to individuals and families across our town battling financial hardship, food insecurity and many other challenges.
Steps of faith
Back in April, we took a big step of faith and launched the Woking Community Grocery in our new Community Hub. The response has been absolutely staggering. In just a few short months, the Grocery has grown to serve over 1,000 members, helping local families stretch their household budgets and find a genuine sense of belonging.
As a ministry grows, so does the logistics behind it. Keeping up with stock, managing deliveries, organising the warehouse, and supporting our incredible volunteer teams is a massive task.
That’s why we are looking for a fantastic person to join our staff team in a brand-new role: Operations Manager (Grocery Focus).
What Is The Role?
This is a part-time position (3 days per week) that sits right at the heart of our church’s everyday logistics.
If you take on this role, you will be splitting your skills and time across two key areas:
- Powering the Community Grocery: You’ll work tightly alongside Darren Green (our Grocery Manager) to oversee warehouse operations, manage suppliers, streamline systems, and ensure we have the right food in the right place at the right time.
- Strengthening the Wider Church: You’ll also plug directly into our wider central Operations Team, working alongside the opps team to support the broader, exciting day-to-day operational life of Welcome Church.
It’s the perfect blend of high-level organising and hands-on, kingdom-building impact.
